2013 Aluvión Malbec Reserva "The Emmeline"
We named this wine after our daughter, who was born the same year.
Super premium, limited release.
While the season experienced cooler temperatures and higher than average cloudy and rainy days, through careful vineyard management and the good fortune of two weeks of beautiful warm days prior to harvest, the berries achieved amazing velvety tannins, better natural acidity, and excellent fruit expression.
This is an intense and elegant malbec that is a bright violet colour. Its aroma expresses red fruits like plums and cherries, balanced with the spicy notes from 20 months in oak. The wine is round on the palate, with soft tannins and delicate mineral notes, giving it great character and remarkable structure.
