PRODUCTION

Super premium limited release.

2012 provided nearly perfect weather conditions, which enabled us to leave the berries on the vine to reach their ideal ripeness.  We were thus able to achieve better extractions of aromas, colour and tannins during the maceration and fermentation process. We also matured this 100% Malbec wine in a combination of new and second use French oak barrels (Boutes and Saury) for 22 months. The result is an intense and full-bodied wine, which will drink well now and for many years to come.

TASTING NOTES

The wine presents with a dark violet colour with blackish tones.  It is rich with aromas of ripe black fruits and hints of sweet tobacco. The palate is full and rich with concentrated flavours of blackcurrants and spicy notes, enriched by lively acidity, structured tannins, and a long spicy finish. It is enjoying further maturation as it ages in the bottle.

As with most Malbec wines, we recommend decanting for up to 30 minutes and serving at a temperature of 16-18 degrees Celsius (61 - 64.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
